Roofed Pergola in Texas
A buyer of one of our premade pergola plans contacted us with some questions about how to customize the plans. He wanted to build a pergola with a roof to cover his son and daughter-in-law’s back patio to keep them out of the hot Texas sun. So, we drew up a set of custom pergola plans based on The Classic, but with some tweaks to make it suitable for a polycarbonate roof.
Since the eave of the house is a bit low, and the client wants the pergola tall enough to have a couple ceiling fans mounted, we had to make the pergola taller than the adjacent house. The result should be an open and airy pergola, perfect for relaxing on hot summer days.
After receiving his plans and after learning about the Skylift hardware system, the client made some modifications to give the patio a bit more room and remove the posts closest to the house. While a bit different then we originally intended, we can’t argue with the final result!
