This set of digital plans includes the following files containing knee brace cutting templates:

  • 36” x 48” (ARCH E) drawing sheet with long and short braces

  • 8-1/2” x 11” banner print for the long brace

  • 8-1/2” x 11” banner print for the short brace

The templates are complementary to the premade pergola plans we have available and are interchangeable with the knee braces detailed in the plans already. You do not need to make any adjustments to your plans (or to the knee brace templates) in order to use them when building a pergola from our plans.

Note that this pattern uses 2x8 material instead of the 2x6 material we typically specify for knee braces in our plans. The minimum depth of the brace is kept to 3-1/2” (or 89 mm, equivalent to a 2x4 depth) for strength.

After your order is placed, you will receive an email with a link to download the plans. The plans are in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files, included in one ZIP document. See the following website for instructions on using .zip files. You likely have a PDF reader installed on your computer already, but if not you can use the free program Adobe Reader to view the plans.

Please see the FAQ if you have any questions. Otherwise, if you have any issues with the plans, please Contact Us.
