This pergola design project was created to provide reliable protection from the elements while enhancing the usability of an outdoor kitchen space. Featuring a standing seam metal roof, the structure offers long-term durability and weather resistance, making it ideal for year-round outdoor cooking and entertaining. The pergola stands over a newly installed gravel patio, adding texture and natural drainage to the area while complementing the warm tones of the redwood lumber used throughout the build.

Crafted entirely from redwood, the pergola balances strength with a clean, natural aesthetic that fits beautifully into its California setting. Thanks to the thoughtful design we developed, the homeowner was able to self-build and navigate the often tricky permitting process with ease—no small feat in regulation-heavy California.
